There’s a new bill in the works that could change the skyline—and the rental landscape—for seven of California’s largest cities. If passed, it would allow residential buildings to rise as high as 150 to 450 feet near transit stops in cities with populations over 400,000. The goal? To help make a 2.5 million new homes target possible by 2030. As owners and managers of multi-units ourselves, we know firsthand how policies like this can shape opportunities for both property owners and tenants. More housing density could mean more choices for renters and fresh avenues for landlords looking to fill units with quality tenants. It’s always our job to keep an eye on what’s coming down the pipeline so we can help you navigate your investments with confidence.
